Master are a death metal band from Chicago, IL founded in 1983. The group, which was startedĀ by Paul Speckman who is still in the band to this day, formed out of the break up of Speckman's earlier bands, Death Strike and War Cry. Speckman settled on the name Master in 1985 and was quickly signed by Combat Records, although their initial record was never released. They were ultimately signed to Nuclear Blast where they would rise to national prominence, even though it took them a while to get there. They are now regarded as pioneers of the death metal genre. TheĀ band has remained active and have relocated to the Czech Republic, releasing over ten albums to date. This originalĀ Master shirt, lightly worn and faded, is from 1991.Ā
