Vintage Nike "Michael Jordan Restaurant" T-Shirt
Basketball legend Michael Jordan never actually owned Michael Jordan's Restaurant in Chicago, which was founded 1993. The Bulls' star lent his namesake to theĀ three-story brick building on N. LaSalle Street, but the business was owned by Joe and Gene Silverberg. Regardless, Jordan was known to dine there up to three times a week with his family and the building was decorated with Jordan's help, being adorned with jerseys and trophies andĀ SI covers. In 1997, Jordan opened his own restaurant, the more upscale One Sixtyblue, causing the Silverberg bros to offer their restaurant to Chicago Cubs star Sammy Sosa instead of Jordan. The restaurant eventually closed in 1999 after Sosa's refusal to accept the Silverberg's offer. This vintage Michael Jordan The Restaurant shirt, deadstock with tags still attached, is printed on a great Nike tee and is from the Chicago restaurant's heyday, when you could still Juanita's Mac & Cheese and watch a game on the giant video wall.Ā
