The Jam were a British punk rock band. They formed in 1972 but didn't record anything until five years later when they quickly went from London locals to chart toppers for Polydor. In total, The Jam went on to record six records. Their final album went all the way to #1 in the UK. The band was led by guitarist and singer Paul Weller and backed by singing bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler. Weller broke up the band in 1982. They have gone down as one of Britain's best.
